2010 Leaps: Take One

Every time I stare at a blank canvas I get a bit anxious.  I feel that I have a lot to learn in different areas, but especially more in painting.  As you can imagine, I am thrilled and can't wait to get all the details.  My only concern will be how to keep my creative area clean while we try to sell the condo.  Challenge indeed, but I had to sign up.  I just couldn't pass up this opportunity.  Taking a leap by taking this exciting online painting course.  Hope to take many more creative leaps this year.

Brothers & Sisters

Sometimes I wish there was someone filming my life only to look back at all the silly, funny, amazing, creative, scary......moments I have shared with my older sister and younger brother.  We live far apart from one another, but we try to see one another as often as possible.  It's hard for the three of us to be together at the same time because of our schedules.  A wish this year would be for the three of us to sit down over tea or coffee and just remember all our adventures as children and young adults.

In the meantime I have been playing with photo layering.  I took this original cropped picture of the three of us. I am in yellow, my brother in the middle, and my sister in pink.

I took this other picture I had edited previously and layered both pictures.

It's a bit ghostly looking for January, but the layering process what amazing to work with.

So I end this post with another picture of us on a hammock. My brother probably won't appreciate that I post this picture, but it's just such a great picture of us.  Love you M & L.

Essentials for a New Year

The assurance that I am surrounded by the love of God, family, and friends. (photos of my son taken by my husband)

Fill in the blanks of my calendar with precious time.  For example, time to be creative.  Scraps came to life in this patch journal I just finished.

The spine was really fun to make with this textured paper and lace.

Inside cover. Pages were stitched with several decorative stitches.

Close-up of front cover.

A little project I also finished were these calendar fabric hearts to hang in my kitchen or bedroom.

My best wishes to you for much creative time and wonderful moments with family and friends.
