Change of season

certainly feeling the change of season.  i am feeling it even more on the creative end.  i am  more deeply aware of my life, my art, and myself than i ever have. it sounds strange, doesn't it?  where have i been? what have i been doing? before i started nurturing my creativity.  that is what overwhelms in a not so good and at the same time AWESOME way.    what is emerging creatively feels right.  it is just simply right.

Ta da da

That is what i am humming as i paint with a new palette
and a style that is coming from my heart.

The above collage is mixed-media on the beginning of paint blotter.
I began to keep some extra paper on the side while i paint.  I dab
excess paint on them and use them for some fun collages.

Housewarming gift

A wonderful gift hangs in my art room.  It reminds me how generous, caring, and creative this artist is.  Becky has completely won my heart with her gentle creations and wonderful heart.  She sent me a wonderful housewarming gift last week that added even more joy to my day.

The excitement builds up.

Those special touches that say it is from Becky.

Original bird collage that I held close to my heart when I unwrapped
it from the beautiful package.

A word that means so much.

The front book cover (back of collage) was the icing on the cake.

Thank you dear Becky for sharing your heart and passion through your art.
Thank you dear Becky for this amazing housewarming gift.

Eugene goes to the library & a giveaway

Eugene found Creativity not too long ago.   Eugene needs some guidance.  He is not sure what
creativity is or what to do with it.  He takes some happy steps to the library (biblioteca)
to see what he can find. With his little pouch that holds Creativity, he is
excited about his new journey.

It is with so much happiness that I reach my 200th post. My life has never been the same
since I found and began to nurture my Creativity.

To thank you, my dear blog readers and amazing
artist friends, I am giving away these notepads I made last year.

The notepads are filled with white and recycled cardstock for two lucky readers
to enjoy.  They will be mailed in a handmade envelope.

Leave a comment on this post. The random drawing will
be held on Friday afternoon.

Enjoy your creative moments.

Mission: Possible

My creative space must be filled with things that I love and inspire me.
Prior to becoming a paintbrush holder this was my coffee cup.  One day I saw this cup in my brother's cupboard.  I informed him that I would be taking it home.  The cup was made by my alma mater to commemorate its 100 years which they celebrate this year.  This particular cup was specifically created focusing on the university library.   The librarian's photo is what appealed to me about the cup.

The walls will eventually be filled with inspiration and other handmade things.

I did put up a painting my Dad made of me many years ago which I cherish so.  Perhaps later
this year I'll ask him to make a frame for it.

My painting area is ready for me.  The pink strips you see hanging on the left is a work in progress.  It is a metal lamp frame that I am embellishing to hang on my ceiling.  I haven't really focused on making things for my home and art space, but it's someting I want to spend a bit more time doing.

I keep hanging things around my dressform's neck.  Eventually, she might fall over.

Since I don't really have anything to hang in this closet, I decided to use it as a display for some art and other things.  You see on the far right some flowers my son painted earlier this year for Mother's Day.

I tied up all my scarves and hung them on my closet door next to
a handmade (by an aunt) crocheted dress I wore as a young girl.

While I was organzing and simplifying, I rocked to 80's songs. This is my favorite.
So now it's time to create things I love and enjoy.
Have a wonderful weekend.

What will Eugene do next?

I know exactly what is on my agenda for the rest of the week........

My art space is in serious need of tender love.  Pictures are not available,

Once I get my space how I want it, I can focus on this little fellow.  I have a pretty good idea of what Eugene will be doing next.  As you can see, I decided for some yellow and touches of the previous color.
