Red hair

A young woman with red hair caught my attention.  Warmth and serenity radiated from her.
There is something mysterious about sketching people we don't know.

The process

So proud of my little sketch.  It was not easy for me to do.
Although I am proud of the final result, the process is what counts the most.
Knowing that I didn't give up when it looked like this sketch was not going
to happen is satisfying and encouraging.

Another opportunity to be

Honestly, this is a transfer gone wrong.
A watercolor wash on top and I think
I like what it is now.

The Key

"What did you do as a child that made the hours pass like minutes?
Here is the key to your earthly pursuits."
--Carl Jung

I started making lists of things that I was drawn to as a child.
What moved me?
What did play mean?
When I played with certain things,
what aspect did I enjoy the most
or got excited about?

I am focusing on the specifics and
the juciest things of those experiences.

Forget the cavities (for a minute)

Witnessing the delightful smile of a five-year old (or a thirty-seven year old)
picking out his (or her) favorite candy is quite precious.

Enjoy this delightful video too.
Surely, I would be there everyday.

Where is Spring? A Conversation

"Where are you going?"

"Not sure.  Any suggestions?"

"I am going to find Spring. Want to come?"

"Sure.  Let's go."

Where is Spring?
stamps by Studio 112

Although it looks like Spring has arrived in my neck of the woods,
there are many places where Spring is taking its time.

Thank you to my dear brother for collaborating with me
 in concocting this conversation.

Somekind of bookmark

Not knowing what this would be when I started stitching, it turns out
that maybe I did need somekind of bookmark.  When I opened
the current book I am reading, there was a little piece of paper with
 torn edges holding my place.

By the way, I am reading The Call of the Wild and White Fang
by Jack London.  Magnificent stories.

Sketching attempts

First few pages of my new sketchbook.

Playing with watercolors.

Inspired by the door of a childhood home in Mexico City.

What energized me today was finding these incredible domino pieces for the
3-D project I have been working on since the end of 2010.  Although I can't post
about this project yet, these dominoes are perfect for the second in this 3-D project series
What energized you today?
